Welcome
To Willow Brook Acres web site where
Daylilies are our specialty
|

|
March 26 2007, spring cleanup has begun
at Willow Brook Acres. At left Sally and garden dog Lily
are hoping the weather will get warmer from here on. Our
last frost date is May 15 and it has been known to snow here in
April...
|
But then came the endless winter...
|
The 2007 early spring quickly turned
into an endless winter. After a brief early spring clean up, winter began
again with days of snow and 20 degree temperatures. On April 14, we are expecting another snow from the west edge
of a Nor'easter that will slam into Pennsylvania, New York and some New
England states. They are predicting an inch of slushy snow for us.

At top is the beautiful Snow Fountain Weeping
Cherry that is the first to bloom at Willow Brook Acres. We
enjoyed it for one day because the next day we were greeted with a snow
and freezing temperatures. The picture at left is the tree in
bloom in the April snow. |
Willow Brook Acres is a home grown business that grew out of a love for a most excellent and easy to grow perennial, the daylily.
John and Sally Marcum are a two person team that
have been married for 45
years and have been gardening with daylilies for 20 years. While Sally is the
gardener and hybridizer, she knows she could not run
Willow Brook Acres without John.

| Garden visitors are welcome
by appointment or take a chance and stop by before
dark. We are here most of the time during the garden
season. However, we prefer to not dig daylilies in the rain.

Willow Brook Acres hopes to encourage the average
home gardener to grow and enjoy a variety of daylilies. We offer many that are priced for
the backyard gardener as well as some for the collector that wants the
newest Introductions. We are located east of Norwalk, Ohio on State Rt. 61.
Watch for the "Daylilies For Sale" sign pointing to our driveway.
For our mail order customers, it is our policy is to
send generous, mature bare root daylilies. Most of our daylilies are
priced as a double fan. And in many cases the order with be dug with more than 2
fans on the division. But sometimes it is necessary to offer a
single fan price. Next to the price on our lists a single fan is
indicated by an [SF] or [S].
We will begin shipping late April or the
first week in May for the 2007 season. ordering instructions
NOTE: Plants shipped early spring will have smaller
green fan size but a mature root
structure. They will finish growing to their mature size in your garden.
We will be accepting orders now through October 2007. For late fall orders be sure to order
early so that the daylily has 3 to 4 weeks before the first hard frost in your area.
